The basis of conflict, both in daily life and in the wider world, is most often founded on the fear of something that is outside the experiences of the people involved. It is this fear of difference that divides people and communities causing unnecessary suffering, from school playgrounds to international conflicts. One of the most effective ways to undo much of the potential for the destructive discrimination based on 'difference' is a well-rounded education. The essential premise of education is to introduce the student to new ideas and concepts to expand awareness, understanding and knowledge. And it is with these principles in mind that we can apply various disciplines of the arts to bring about our learning goals, ones that are inclusive of elements of culture from around the globe.

"We are more the same than we are different."
